How to take care of your citation(s):
There are different options to take care of a citation that will depend on a variety of factors. You will need to contact the Municipal Court after you receive a citation to see what options are available for you.

Driver Safety Course Information Court Plea
YOU MAY BE ABLE TO REQUEST A DRIVING SAFETY COURSE TO HAVE AN ELIGIBLE TRAFFIC OFFENSE DISMISSED. YOU MUST CALL THE COURT TO SEE IF YOU MEET THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE DSC.
DSC IS AVAILABLE ONCE IN A 12 MONTH PERIOD. CDL HOLDERS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE.
The following items are required and must be given to the court no later than the appearance date listed on your citation:
Plea and request for DSC filled out and notarized.
Copies of a valid Texas driver’s license and current insurance card that lists your name as a driver.
There is a $144.00 fee that must be paid to the court for the DSC, if you are eligible for the DSC and complete all requirements in the specified time this will be the only money you pay to the court.

This information sheet is provided to assist you to process your citation. You have the following options available:
You may enter a plea of guilty or nolo contendere (no contest) and pay your fine. There is a plea form on the bottom of the back of this page for you to fill out and send in with the payment of the fine.
You may enter a plea of not guilty, and you will be set on the court docket and notified by mail of your court date and time. This plea must be in writing and sent to the court at the address above.
If you qualify you may request a driver’s safety course. The request for is on the back side of this form and you must call the court before sending the driver’s safety course information to the court.
If you are unable to pay your citation there are alternative ways to take care of it. These alternatives can be explained to you at the court or by you calling the court at the number listed above.
