Valley Mills, Texas has its own low power AM Radio Station. The station came about when the Emergency Coordinator and the Lions Club president both were trying to figure a way to get announcements out to the citizens of Valley Mills. It was determined that the station belonged to the Lions Club, but would be housed at the City Hall and the City would have priority access to broadcast 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. Donations were accepted from The First National Bank of Bosque County, MLS, and Bill's Paint & Body Shop in order to purchase the equipment and get the station on the air. These three sponsorships have a lifetime acknowledgement as sponsors. Several different sites were considered and tested for the transmitters and after being on the air for some time, the main transmitter was moved to the tower behind First National Bank. Radio VMTX is not a professional radio station, but is a lower AM station which requires no FCC License. Sunday Worship Services and Varsity Football Games are a few events that broadcast live. The station is currently updating and being proactive to stay up with the times and make the citizens of Valley Mills proud. The programming is currently Classic Country, but other genres will be programmed soon. Radio VMTX can be accessed by clicking the link or tuning to 1580 on your AM dial while in town.
