Governor's Report to Reopen Texas
Disinfecting your Facility
Cleaning and disinfecting are ways to continue to reduce the spread of COVID-19. Learn what you need to do before you open, when someone is sick, and steps for everyday cleaning.
Social Distancing
Continue to practice social distancing, avoid crowds, and limit contact. Social distancing, also known as physical distancing, means keeping space (at least 6 feet or 2 arms lengths) between yourself and other people outside of your home.
Hand Washing and Hand Sanitizing
Follow critical health guidelines by washing hands often and for 20 seconds or by using hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. There are important differences between washing hands with soap and water and using hand sanitizer.
Protecting the Vulnerable
Special guidance was given for people 65 years or older, especially with medical issues like heart disease, diabetes, cancer, or weakened immune systems.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) shortages are still posing a challenge for first responders and the healthcare system.
